So, this is the fourth Nottingham meet up I have been to so far and they are so much fun! Each time I meet more and more likeminded people who are so friendly and I get to catch up with the girls I have already met. It’s a funny feeling (in a good way) meeting people for the first time who you follow on Instagram or watch on YouTube, saying that from the moment we all get together its non-stop chatting and giggles in amongst admiring and checking out what each of us are wearing! You may not be able to see in the picture but we are all wearing our @pinkcoatclub seamstress pins.
Our meet ups are organised by the lovely Chantelle from @i_seam_so_happy_xx and she had a few surprises in store for us this time! We started off at Bill’s Restaurant for breakfast which was so good, if you are ever in Nottingham I can highly recommend it.
Next stop was a visit to The Craft Studio, an absolutely beautiful shop with the friendliest owner you will ever meet. Claire was so welcoming and chatty it was like talking to someone you have known for years. Inside, the shop is so beautifully decorated and there is a lovely range of fabric including a Liberty section. Up for grabs in The Craft Studio was a prize for the person who found a hidden rubber duck and a raffle to win a sewing mug. Mel from @handmadebyditsytulip found the duck hidden inside the pocket of a Tilly and the Buttons Bettine dress on a mannequin and the sewing mug raffle was won by Linda from @pixipins
After a few photos, (sadly I didn’t take any inside the shop) we ran across the street to catch the bus to Chillwell to The fabric Place. A shop full of fabric and a room out the back of fabric for just £2 a metre, I think nearly everyone found themselves a bargain!
By the time we had finished shopping we were all ready to grab a coffee, we finished the day off in the cafe at John Lewis. The day went so quickly and i’m already looking forward to the next meet up. All the details of the Nottingham meet ups are on the @sewnotts Instagram account. It is so lovely to have people you can talk sewing with and i’m grateful for all the new sewing friends I have made!
Happy sewing everyone.
